Free Money In English (1998) "Free Money" may be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Roy Dupuis plays an escaped convict running through the trees until he gets shot. He doesn't have a single line; he just gets taken to the corrupt warden (Marlon Brando), who kills him. This scene happens fairly early in the film; in fact, I understand that it was supposed to open the film, but the producers decided it was too much of a downer, since they were trying to make a comedy. Take it from me, this isn't a comedy. It's not a drama, either. I'm not sure what it is. "Free Money" was filmed in Quebec, and there are several familiar Quebecois faces in the film. I watched for about fifteen minutes after this scene, but the movie was so freaking bad that I just fast-forwarded to the end on the off chance that Roy would rise from the dead. He didn't. Was Brando just desperate for some cash? (Free money?) I bet Roy took the part in order to meet Brando. Actually, I bet most of the cast took parts in order to work with Brando, because I can't believe that actors like Donald Sutherland, Mira Sorvino, and Martin Sheen actually read the script before agreeing to perform in this movie.
