La Femme Nikita
Reviews by Billie Doux
July 2010: Readers can now post comments directly on all of my La Femme Nikita reviews. And I hope you will.
Somehow, I completely missed Nikita when it originally aired (1997-2001). I discovered it on DVD during the summer of 2005, and fell in love with it.
There's the inevitable comparison. Which do I like better, Alias or Nikita? They both have their strengths, and I haven't stopped loving Alias by any means, especially the first two seasons... but I gotta say, I think Nikita is better. Nikita is purer, more focused, much darker, and infinitely more romantic, since the Michael/Nikita relationship is the core of the series. Jack was my favorite Alias character, and it is obvious to me now that his character was based on Nikita's Michael, played by Roy Dupuis. As much as I loved Jack, I loved Michael so much more. So much so that I started reviewing Roy Dupuis' movies and television appearances.
