Highlander 2: The Quickening (Movie : 1991) Omigod, what a terrible movie. The original release of this movie was so colossally bad that I am amazed that it didn't sink the franchise before truly began. Even the "renegade version" is freaking awful. Mercifully, I've forgotten a lot of the details, and I wasn't able to force myself to watch the whole thing in order to write a review. I guess I could explain why I think it's so awful, though. They made the ghastly mistake of trying to explain their fantasy universe with practical shit. I suppose it can be done, but moving the story to the future and telling us that the immortals were aliens was not the way to do it. I think they were thinking Superman and Krypton. Wrong. This movie had a fabulous cast: Christopher Lambert, Virginia Madsen, Michael Ironside, Sean Connery. All of them read the script and they still did this movie. Why? It's a mystery. Okay, money.
