Battlestar Galactica DVDs
I've gotten a lot of questions about the Battlestar Galactica DVD sets. They are indeed incredibly confusing. Here's a run-down.
- There is a miniseries, which is the pilot.
- Season one is thirteen episodes.
- Season two is twenty episodes.
The miniseries pilot was originally released as a single DVD set. It is apparently no longer available, which is a good thing because it confused everyone even more. Then the official season one DVD set was finally released. This set includes the miniseries and the entire first season, so this IS what you want.
The second season was released on DVD in two parts: episodes one through ten, and episodes eleven through twenty. Here are the first ten episodes of season two:
And here are the second ten episodes of season two. This set is called Season 2.5. And yes, they confused us even more by including an expanded version of episode 2.10, "Pegasus." So "Pegasus" is on both DVD sets.
This is the old series from the 1970s. If you've never seen it, you may not want to bother. It's nothing like the new series.
Any questions? There will be a test.
